ADA  and Title VI Compliance

Web Accessibility Policy
Tippecanoe County is committed to ensuring accessibility of its website for people with disabilities. As such we have chosen a web platform vendor that enables the creation of accessible content. We will generate and distribute a document to the content creators that lists the best practices and requirements for our content. The goal is for all pages on our website to conform to W3C WAI's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, Level A.

All new or revised content published by the county must be in compliance with the World Wide Web standards defined in the Federal Rehabilitation Act Section 508. We will use reasonable effort to ensure that legacy web pages and content, primarily those that were transferred over from the legacy web site, are reviewed on a periodic basis and updated accordingly should non-confirming content be discovered.

Should specific content be requested to be made accessible, that content should be made accessible as soon as possible. If cost or other factors result in undue administrative or financial burdens, alternative formats may be used to provide content to the requester. This policy document is issued by the Chief Information Officer.
