Intake Department

RELEASED FROM COURT OR JAIL

Report to our office at 2800 N 9th Street Rd, Lafayette IN 47904 (MAP)

 OR

Report to our staff member at the Courthouse (2nd Floor – outside Superior 6)
   -Wednesdays: 8:30 am – 10:00 am
   -Fridays: 8:30 am – 10:00 am

             Do not call the office, you must report in person to make an appointment

You will be given an appointment date for Orientation.

   a. Orientations take place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 8am - Noon     b. You will be scheduled for the next available appointment
   c. Orientation is approximately 2 hours long, beginning promptly at 9am.
   d. You must establish/have a valid and working email address
   e. All paperwork must be in place prior to the start of Orientation.
    f. Please review Participant Handbook located on the website prior to Orientation.

    g. Your residence should be clear of any drugs, drug paraphernalia, weapons and alcohol.

On the day of your Orientation, the following is required:

   a. Consent to Search must be completed prior to 9:00am (otherwise start in Work Release)
   b. All required fees (otherwise start in Work Release)
   c. Valid Driver’s License or State Issued ID
   d. Proof of Citizenship (Passport, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate)
   e. ALL prescription medications in original bottles
   f. Proof of employment/income (Check Stub/Disability Statement)
   g. Your valid working email address
   h. Do not show up impaired in any form. You will not start the program.
           i. May be required to stay until sober
           ii. May initiate police involvement
    i. Do not drive, if you do not hold a valid driver’s license
            i. May initiate police involvement
    j. Baseline Drug Screen will be completed
    k. You may have your DNA taken via mouth swab
    l. You will be assigned a case manager
    m. GPS ankle unit will be installed
    n. CourtFact App will be installed on your phone
    o. You will set your first week’s schedule (Orientation Date to the following Tuesday)

DIRECT PLACEMENT

(TCCC pick up from Tippecanoe County Jail)

Court order is emailed to the Intake Department
    a. Defendant is reviewed for acceptance or denial
    b. If accepted, added to the Jail List to be interviewed
    c. If denied, courts are notified
    d. Interview is conducted to determine if or when placement is appropriate
    e. Sign On Fee & any applicable back fees can then be paid by outside contact.
    f. Consent to Search form will need completed prior to pick up 
         (otherwise start in Work Release)
    g. Intake then informs the jail of the transfer request
    h. The jail prepares for release (searching for holds, warrants, etc.)
    i. Jail informs TCCC when inmate is cleared for pick up.
    j. Defendants are added to the Jail Pick Up list.
    k. Transfers are typically done twice per week.

This process generally takes 1-3 weeks, depending on the quantity of orders, holds, other cases, etc.

TCCC Staff will pick up the next available group of participants for orientations on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

PRIOR to pick up, participants must have:
    a. Working cell phone
    b. Consent to Search must be completed prior to 9:00am (otherwise start in Work Release)
