Special Exception

All ABZA meetings will start at 6 pm.
The meetings can be watched live on the County Facebook and Youtube Page.

A special exception is a specific authorization of a proposed land use in a given zoning district, but only upon showing that certain conditions can be met. In Tippecanoe County, only the Area Board of Zoning Appeals can grant a special exception after a Public Hearing at one of its meetings.

A completed special exception submission consists of the following:
  • Petition
  • Notarized Consent
  • Interested Parties List
  • Notice of Public Hearing
  • Notice of Public Hearing Release Form
  • Notice to Interested Parties Letter
  • WL City-Campus Community Collaboration Zone Verification (if necessary)
  • Site Plans
  • Fees: See Fee Schedule (PDF)
