Area Plan Commission (APC)
The APC of Tippecanoe County is the multi-jurisdictional planning agency serving the cities of Lafayette and West Lafayette, the Towns of Battle Ground, Clarks Hill and Dayton, and unincorporated Tippecanoe County. Created in 1959, its 3 primary functions are Comprehensive Planning (plans and policies to shape the future), Current Planning (zoning and land division ordinances to implement the plans), and Transportation Planning (plans and strategies to serve all forms of future transportation needs).

The Tippecanoe County Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) provides services and equipment in response to any emergency, man made or natural, in a direct or supporting role to the citizens of Tippecanoe County and any other area within the State of Indiana as called upon to do so by recognized authorities.

Health Department
The mission of the Health Department is to enhance the health and welfare of Tippecanoe County through public health education, promotion, prevention, and the protection of public and environmental health.

Highway Department
The Tippecanoe County Highway Department strives to build and maintain our roadway infrastructure such that the transporting of people, goods, and services is comfortable, efficient, and safe. We will continue to work to improve the transportation infrastructure for the citizens of Tippecanoe County.

Human Resources
The Human Resource Department maintains the personnel file and employment information for each employee, administers all employee benefits offered by the county, and recruits/refers applicants to the hiring departments.

Tippecanoe County Management Information Technology Services (MITS) provides both computer technology support and solutions, and GIS for the Tippecanoe County Government.

Juvenile Alternatives
It is the mission of the Community Corrections' Juvenile Alternatives Program to provide the Juvenile Court and local schools with viable alternatives for youth through the use of intervention, mediation, supervision, and education services.

Public Defender
The Public Defender's office represents indigent clients who are appointed by the courts. Cases include adults and juveniles charged with crimes, juveniles charged with status offenses, individuals charged with probation violations, and other miscellaneous types of cases.

The Tippecanoe County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a legal subdivision of state government, the only local unit of government responsible for coordinating the conservation of our soil, water, and related natural resources.
