About Us

Most county offices are located in downtown Lafayette.  The Courthouse, located at 301 Main Street, hosts the courts, prosecutor, public defender and clerk offices, among others.   The Columbia Street entrance is the only entrance open to the general public and all who enter must pass through a metal detector.  To learn more about Courthouse Security, click here.        The County Office Building (across the street from the courthouse on the corner of Columbia and 3rd streets) houses most of the administrative offices such as the Commissioners, Assessor, Auditor, Recorder and Treasurer.   View a directory of all offices and their locations.    View a map of downtown offices.   A parking garage is adjacent to the County Office Building with a skywalk connecting to the 2nd floor.  Enter the parking garage from Columbia Street, exit onto South Street.
